Over the last couple of weeks, Shoey has been following the lockdown rules and keeping himself safe at home! Even though he misses everyone at Buckle My Shoe and his weekend sleepovers, he knows that this is the best thing to do so that we all can be safe and get things back to normal faster! 😊

Luckily Shoey is in isolation with his friends George and Dino. Every day George, Dino and Shoey eat breakfast together and think of new activities to do. Shoey has been busy helping plan and film special daily mat times for his Buckle My Shoe family and he loves helping Shreena do all the different action songs. While he is being filmed, Dino and George watch quietly and then after filming wraps, they all try the activity of the day together.

Shoey was lucky enough to get given some new felt pens before the lockdown. These felt pens are special because they have the English and Maori names of the colour written on it. When Shoey draws, he loves to sing one of his favourite songs - “Ma is White”. He also found a special resource at home, which is a matching colour game. Shoey enjoys mixing up all the objects and then sorting them out into the right colour. He is getting so quick at doing this. Ka Pai Shoey! 👌

To pass the time, Shoey has also been exploring books and loves reading and singing his favourite nursery rhymes. 

Each day, Shoey enjoys sitting near the window and seeing what is happening outside. He likes to see what the weather is like, watch people go for walks and even tries to spot any new teddy bears that have been placed in windows! 

Shoey's lockdown adventures have been fun, but he cannot wait to see all of his Buckle My Shoe family very soon!
