To spread the love for Valentines Day, we spoke about all the people in our lives that we love and think are special. Of course, our mums and dads were a favourite response amongst our little ones and so we decided to do something special for them.

Everyone loves cakes and so with our little ones being keen bakers - we decided to bake and decorate some delicious red velvet cupcakes - YUM! Following the instructions in front of us, we added, mixed and spooned the mixture into the cupcake holders ready for the oven. It wasn't long before the delicious smell of baking filled the centre and while we waited for them to cool we thought it would be nice to create some Valentine’s Day hearts to go with the cupcakes.

Using a cotton bud and different coloured paints, our little ones creatively designed a special heart that they were going to give to their special person and hung it up to dry. With the cupcakes all cooled and ready - the decorating station was open for business!

When it was time to go home, our little ones gifted their special person a delicious cupcake and a beautiful heart - secretly hoping they were also going to get a taste too! 😊

Showing kindness and care to others is an important part of the Buckle My Shoe Growing Great Character Program and days such as Valentine’s Day provide us all with opportunities to do something special for those special people around us. ❤️
