Mother's Day 2021 at Buckle My Shoe!

To celebrate and say thanks to all our special mums, grandmas and nanas that are part of the Buckle My Shoe Family, we held a lovely Mother’s Day afternoon tea at the centre. ☕😊

Not only did we want to spoil them with delicious treats, but we also wanted to make something unique that we could gift to them as well as prepare a special mat time performance for our wonderful mums. 💕

After a brainstorming session with some of our older learners, we decided that mums love things that smell nice – so how about making some nice bath salts? Researching a recipe, we found one that consisted of Himalayan salt, Epsom salt, coconut oil and various essential oils. Each of our little ones had the opportunity to pick a scent for their mum that they thought she would like and create a batch. This process not only involved a lot of measuring, but also involved their senses!

The day of our special Mother’s Day event arrived and our little ones were buzzing; waiting for the afternoon! At mat time, we performed two special songs - “I love my mummy” and “Skidamarink A Dink A Dink”, following by shared kai time. 😋

It was so special having our mums, grandmas and nanas with us at Buckle My Shoe. What a wonderful way to celebrate all the amazing things they do for us on a daily basis. We hope that every mum, grandma and nana had a fantastic Mother’s Day. 🎉😊💖
